Pope Leo XIV
On June 18, 2025, Pope Leo XIV led his weekly General Audience in St. Peter’s Square, focusing on the Gospel story of the paralyzed man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–9). He spoke about how discouragement and indifference can lead to a kind of spiritual stagnation, encouraging believers to reflect on the question, “Do you want to be healed?” The Pope stressed that renewal and healing come through personal effort and openness to God’s grace, calling on everyone to take an active role in their spiritual growth.
